my lovely December @ 1:54 AM

SAY YO YO ~ LIKE A NEGRO! (damn random) i know i'm supposed to have this done on Monday, but my long long to-do list is really keeping me up every single day.

December is really happening for me. not much of big events, but it has really challenged me in some way i haven't been tested for a long time. since poly, i had quite a carefree life without having to rush and remember schedules for each day.

i remember being really busy before December announced arrival, but can't recall with what. i think exams and my society's events i guess? and i fell super sick before December hits. below is the schedule (as much as i can recall) i had for December so that you guys might roughly guess what are the photos about if i get kind of sloppish in my blogwork (hahaha!)

3: Played mahjong with the boyf's brother
6: Beyond Staff Dinner and Dance
8: HSCDC Awards Day
9: Collection of printer and BBQ @ yappy's place
5th, and 10th to 12th(might not be in correct sequence): Outing to CA tech for the awesomest children X'mas party I've been to, trip to UWC school, Outing with children to Marina Bay Financial Center for X'mas party, some art canvas place for children, and a JWT(is it?) gym with Standard Chartered Bank, and work in the evening on 10th and 12th
13: Meet up with SJM (3 of us only) love. Movie at 老姐's place
15: X'mas party event @ HSCDC by JP Morgan
16: Children's camp volunteering by Blossom World Society :)
19: Meet up with my poly ECH girls
22: Work work work!
23: The CHOICE camp and cooking X'mas dinner for boyf's family
24: Work! HSCDC X'mas gathering and gift exchange (boyf is coming :D). X'mas date with boyf :)
25: Stayover from 24th, and then attending X'mas caroling sessions from VJC and Vocal Consort, and Lamrin class
26: Movie with 老姐
27: Meeting poly girlies :)
31: Fireworks job

BANANANANA

BANANANANA
mahjong with his brother was really quite funny haha. boyf took pooh pooh to stare at him, and he really lost money to us, then he went into the room to take a gigantic bear which looks damn lembeh (meaning of nua in hokkien dialect) to stare back. and i think it further improved our luck LOLOL!

and when we're so busy preparing for the Award's Day, we had staff dinner and dance, so TBH, all of us were quite not 100% looking forward. anyways, this year, i have a partner :) the boyf came :):) Traders' Hotel! but their service and reception is really :/ MEEEHHHHH

my usual self shots on rare occasions when i have to put on make up. i just recovered from throat + lung infection then, so i think my face kinda looks wierd. like sunken?

it's great to be able to involved the boyf in my work events, somewhat volunteering improves our understanding of each other's philosophy of giving. and so, on the 8th December, we headed down early morning to the zoo zoo zoo! for our annual graduation ceremony. i was the emcee for this event because the orginally selected people couldn't make it for some reason.

first time as an emcee, didn't do a fantastic job at all :/

anyways, a huge scroll of the photos will be animals, which i intended to caption (but can't bring myself to now) :P till now, i still find it pretty hard to differentiate a jaguar, leopard, and cheetah. NOOBIFIED ~

i felt that Singapore zoo's animals ain't pretty at all. the lions and tigers, their fur look so dull for some reasons. even Kai Kai and Jia Jia, lost out to the red panda in terms of cuteness IMO. 180 of us queued half an hour and i was just kinda disappointed with what we saw :/

boyf's favourite animal: rhino
mine: elephants, giraffes, zebras, and hippos

they seperated Kai Kai and Jia Jia, so you could see Kai Kai constantly pacing up and down near a door that leads to Jia Jia's habitat. like a sad you know. (random note: the tigers, cheetahs, and leopards love to pace about too! they do it for like umpteen times!)

this is Jia Jia, she's just snoozing away haahahaha. don't know feel Kai Kai's sadness? silly girl!

then we saw the feeding times for orang utans. and we wondered how come the big one gets ALOT more food than this little one. this little one only had like half a carrot and half a corn considering their daily physical activities :/

and there you go. the great answer, she's a mom! :) those little limbs are those of her babies. they were either feeding them all, or feeding the mother more so she could feed them more milk.

see the bond the trainer has with her, she entrusts him with her baby :) and oh my, then we realized, there were TWO of them clinging onto her. noble love!

by the time the zoo trip ended and we went back to the center, it was almost 5pm. went down to collect durian bread for him and his family, had dinner at the organic restaurant and then played mahjong! won 20bucks by a slight stroke of luck.

brought the children for a trip to the United World College for an interaction programme. the students there come to our center almost every other day to do reading and interesting activities with our children. now, before their school X'mas holidays, they even invited us to their school for games and fun. happy holidays people!

NOTE: i won't upload much photos for the field trips as the photos contain faces of children, which is against certain policies to stream them online. thank you for the understanding :)

MARINA BAY FINANCIAL CENTER! sounds like a cool! look at the view from the office. i think CA tech had a similar view too. imagine if you get to see the laser "batman" lights everytime you OT, not too bad right hahaha. just kidding, you'll eventually get bored of them if you see them everyday i guess.

yesssss the cute santa. luckily there's one photo that does not show the children's face. but ain't it cool? a picnic and game session at marina office areas. everyone is dressed to their best, tensed, and poised like a high flyer, and here we are relaxed, laughing, playing, and even dancing. i hope it brought some fun vibes for the stressed out office people ^^

the sky was extremely beautiful that day. there was even a lady who was lying down on the grass patch enjoying the sun and breeze. would love to do so if i had this luxury of time.

CUPPPPPCAKKKEEEESSS! children love them! (personally i loathe having to eat that :x)

and the canvas painting!!! which i think really boosted the children's confidence in expressing themselves. as after the activity, i realized that more children take the initiative to come into school, take some paper and draw their ideas out and even share them with volunteers and teachers. even those who usually are glued to the toys, they've started picking up the love for drawing. awesome activity!

below are some of the children's work. quite impressive i must say. even the 3-4 year olds were able to appreciate the space given to express their creativity. they really took pride in their work, and were so super focused on each and every detail of the art piece. as i might assume, they've guessed that a slight "mistake" would mean destroying the canvas. so they made sure they carefully painted their ideas on it. as you can see, theme is Christmas ~ what's new lol!

on the 9th boyf and I went to collect my printer @ hougang mall, and before doing that, we had suki sushi. raging cravings since months back!

the next big thing! children's camp. 童心童愿! it's a yearly event by blossom world society that teaches children from age 6-13 about filial piety. everyone who helps out there are volunteers, and i'm one of them :) i enjoy BY activities a lot because in this modern society, it's really hard to find a group of youths, working together for a greater cause for the society, to educate our younger generations.

this is the second time i've joined this activity, only attended half day and i was posted to group 6, so i had a few campers that were from group 5 last year, familiar faces :D

there was this boy who looked restless or unwell. i didn't know which to decide on, but i decided not to judge, and just provide him with my most sincere concern. and at the end of the day, he managed to get himself back together and participated enthusiastically in the later part of the camp. he even danced :)

he's going to a school set up by our honorable teacher in Taiwan, and if he does so, he'll only be able to come back to Singapore twice a year. he said that he wants to see me again whenever he's back :) a little care, can make meaningful impacts on the relationship between two people. all the best yo!

i took many photos of the leg-washing activity where children are supposed to wash and massage their feet for their parents. and give thanks to all the hard efforts their parents put in to raise them into whoever they are now. i see children meticulously washing even the toe nails. asking their parents, how should they do it to make them feel more comfortable. the humility and respect they've shown, never fail to impress and touch me each and every year. and i think i wanna be back volunteering for many many years. there's so much i can learn from them. OMAK!

she's all grown up! next year, i hope she'll be able to join us as a volunteer since she's already in group 6 which is the maximum age for the camp ^^

100% dedication. awesome isn't it? kudos to them!

this boy in grey sweater is the boy i mentioned above. he and his group of friends didn't have the chance to wash their parents' feet as they were unable to turn up for the event. so they washed each other's legs, which was pretty funny too lol!

wiping every toe dry so that mummy can wear her covered shoes comfortably. did i forget to mention, they even help their parents fold up their pants if they were wearing a long one, so that it wouldn't get wet. what thoughtful children!

i give my daddy a big hug hug! when my camera came near, he hugged again hahaha! camera-love.

my friend's daughter. and her husband. i think they totally appreciated the positive values and changes that their daughter benefited from the camp.

me with some of the campers. yesssss the boy hahahaha.

i love the fruits there! partially cause i was hungry. the apple is damn rosy right! organic stuffs :)

as i was rushing to the mrt station cause boyf was waiting for me, i almost walked into this caterpillar. so my volunteer group friends and i started snapping away. and yes! boyf said "this is not a pest, it's a caterpillar. it is not green because it hasn't eaten enough leaves."

i took him for real, and shared it with my colleagues. i got so badly laughed at please!

anyways, there were TONS! of it hanging down from the tree, and i think another nest of "worms" up the tree. the poor tree must be sick!

even on railings! (carrots with spikes? hur hur hur xD)

we went to AMK to meet en hui to collect x'mas gifts for my friends, and also for curry fish head near his place after the camp. YUMMMMSSSS! it's quite super nice, i think i'll be craving it as and when for some time.

oh yah, *inserts random topic* our center poster boy is finally out! cute not! hahahaha.

my colouring for the center's wristband holder. it's supposed to be "please use me".

my boyf going for a wedding dinner of a secondary school friend of his. he wear till damn nice. until i got abit insecure about it LMAO!

hmmmmmmmmm ............... i wanna show off abit. boyf made a short video for me, he bluff-ed me that he has assignment to rush, so this is it! and hearing from him, there's a BIGGER project coming up for X'mas lol. oh wells ~ assignment ahhhhhh i really got fooled lol.

sweet thoughts baby. thank you for making me beautiful in your eyes!

he passed his skill to me. now i ffffffinally learn how to fold a crane. attempted learning it for a donkey years, but to no avail.

23rd Dec, THE CHOICE PARTY! limitless lives, observing merits appreciating kindness, and eternal happiness. thank you my teacher, for bringing these important beliefs into my life. and i'm glad to be able to share it with more people now. please continue to support me in my learning journey!

and 23rd was also the day, boyf and i prepared an X'mas dinner for boyf's family. STRESS OKAY! hahaha my F&N back in secondary school was quite full marks for practical, but now ............. i don't really see myself as a good cook. screw ups here and there. not fantastic :/ hahaha.

and as usual, boyf will snap away, candid shots when i'm cooking. w/o make up, in loose t-shirts, standing in ugly positions lol.

okay, just scroll through the pictures okay. it's 1.34am i'm super tired.

supposingly onion soup, but we added onions, potatoes, carrots, chicken, stock, and butter. cooked for 3hours, pretty awesome soup! too tasty for a 2nd serving.

our "turkey" hahahahaha! looks like it came from a chicken rice stall, but no okay ~ secret shhhhh!

sambal prawns made from leftover prawns and sauce. kind of nice with the pasta :D

a "pasta-ful" of ingredients! LMAO! really loaded man ~

his mum came across as a very hostile person when i first saw her. but slowly taking small measures to be more mindful and sensitive towards her emotions, she's become so nice to me! we had a friendly chat over red wine that was filled with laughter. and i really thought it's the wine helping me :x hahahaha. but today she talked to me soberly too!

it's quite a relief, because i was kinda stressed about her mother disliking me or something. but it turns out that maybe people just need time to warm up to new people, especially when boyf is her eldest son (i'm assuming it's the norm for eldest boy in traditional chinese family) but boyf's mum is actually super funny from the way she expresses herself in conversations lol! super humourous, we had a good time these two nights :):) i'm so happy about it! we even went to Toa Payoh to buy the nice rojak for her. called her up, but she finished work already. else we could've meet up for lunch ^^

at night, boyf planned an X'mas dinner for us nearby his place @ bliss restaurant as we would be too tired to travel far (i had work from 7-2, he came down to help prepare for HSCDC Christmas party too, he slept really late the previous night). i have no make up on, so except my face to look aesthetically unpleasant hahaha. bear with ME! just scroll okay. don't even remember the fugly ones lol.

it was quite a cosy ambience, really romantic since i haven't had this with boyf. just felt really loved and blessed and all i could do was to absorb the mood and enjoy the dinner.

the food and music wasn't enough to put me off as the dinner was such a special thing for me. we had red wine again ^^ dessert was awesome. i didn't finish my main course. for people who know me well, you know it rarely happens. even boyf didn't want to help me finish off, imagine that lol! but i guess his steak tasted good. he enjoyed his meal slowly, and i was there stealing his mash potato to fill up my stomach xD

i had some seafood thing wrapped and presented like that, not impressed. could've decorated with some sauce outside i guess. contents: very small slice of salmon and dory fish, 2 mussels and 2 prawns. hardly fill my appetite (especially when i didn't finish it). yes i have a huge one. don't order this if you happen to patronize there. the other dishes are pretty fine!

boyf's steak. which i think looks not bad. and eeeeeeee can you see brussel sprouts? it tasted like wasabi LOL!

i was drinking soup, not eating the main dish okay hahahaa. the salmon tasted real bad, it was bitter :/ !!!!

dessert. nice!!! i think it was some coffee flavoured thing lol. with cake at the bottom. should've taken picture of the menu, can't seem to remember the names of the dishes!

what's in there ~ so yummy !! nom nom nom ~

my happy boy! :)

okay, can i cut this short? i really want to sleep. December is really joyful filled with memorable events, except that i got to see a HUGE slide in my results, and i can anticipate hell coming when school reopens. fight for a 1st class or settle for a 2nd upper? i need a freaking miracle.

goodbye folks! thank you for reading ~

With Love,
Jolynn
